ATEC tie rods – Product description

Depending on your understanding, track rod may refer to the combination of axial joint plus track rod end or only to the axial joint. It may therefore be possible to replace only the axial joint. But what does the tie rod do in the narrower sense? The axial joint is a central component of your vehicle’s steering system. It ensures that the steering movements you control from the steering wheel are correctly transmitted to the wheels. Unlike the tie rod end, the axial joint transmits “linearly”, hence the elongated structure.

If the tie rod is defective, logically the power transmission is also disturbed. A worn axial joint can result in excessive steering play. If the steering becomes spongy or the steering wheel vibrates, alarm bells should ring. If you ignore the tie rod defect, you can even lose control of the car in the worst case.

In the event of such anomalies, you should arrange for a replacement as soon as possible and order a new tie rod. Thanks to IATF-16949-certified manufacturing in our own production facilities, ATEC tie rods meet the highest quality standards – at a particularly favourable price/performance ratio.
